As part of the Week of Welcome, In the Loop decided to kick off the school year with a fun, and informative, event on campus. We set up a bonfire outside on Husman Stage, put on some tunes and made s’mores with people passing through. Also, in keeping with our dedication to the fiber arts, we had tables set up where people could make their very own miniature Blue Blob out of yarn and felt. Many stopped by to make s’mores and try their hand at yarn crafting and a lot of people became interested in the club so the event was a big success for us!
Another big event that In the Loop participated in was our first Club Day! This is where clubs have tables set up around the center of campus so students can come by and learn about all the amazing clubs on campus and sign up for them. For three hours in the blazing summer heat we sat at our table eager to encourage people to consider joining. We had on display some baby hats to pay homage to our Tiny Toppers project, some granny squares, and one our mates made from plastics bags to show people what our current project was. We came back at the end of Club Day with new tan lines and a long list of people interested in being part of In the Loop!
